Meeting in Brussels in April 2024
On April 16 – 17, the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA) hosted the personal project meeting of ChemSkills. This EU-co-funded project aims to bridge the gap between the skills demanded by the chemical industry and those provided by Universities and Research Centers in Europe, making Europe more competitive and fit for the future.
Key project partners from different Member States gathered in Brussels to present ChemSkill’s structure and outline a unified approach for the next four years of the project. In workshops, they shared insightful ideas and data, each contribution being a vital piece in the puzzle of their respective subsectors (e.g. consumer chemicals, fertilizers, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, plastics, rubber).
As a key partner in Work Package 8 on the rubber chemicals sector, ETRMA was delighted to host the event and have the chance to discuss opportunities, challenges, and solutions to provide a clear roadmap on skills, reskilling, and up-skilling activities for the European chemical sector.
