Challenge and Ambition Documents Are Now Available

The ChemSkills project has published a new set of Challenge and Ambition documents, outlining the key trends, skills needs and future priorities shaping different subsectors of the chemical industry.

The documents focus on six areas:

  • Plastics

  • Consumer Chemicals

  • Fertilisers

  • Rubber

  • Pharmaceuticals

  • Petrochemicals

Each document presents an overview of the main challenges currently affecting the sector, as well as its ambitions for the future. Together, they highlight how the green and digital transition is changing the skills, knowledge and competencies required across Europe’s chemical industry.

Topics covered include circularity, sustainability, regulatory developments, digitalisation, innovation, workforce development and the need for stronger cooperation between industry, education providers and other stakeholders.

Why your feedback matters

ChemSkills aims to support the transformation of the chemical industry by identifying the skills needed for a greener, more digital and more sustainable future.

To make this work meaningful and relevant, we need input from those who know the sectors best.

We invite industry representatives, education and training providers, experts, professionals and other stakeholders to read the documents and share their feedback.

Your views will help us better understand:

  • the challenges faced by each sector

  • current and future skills needs

  • possible gaps in training and education

  • priorities for workforce development

  • the ambitions that should guide future action

Read the documents and share your views.
