What Happened at the ChemSkills Public Conference?

On Wednesday 22.10., Federchimica hosted a conference on future skills needed for the chemical industry green and digital transition. The conference is part of the project ChemSkills. Federchimica is one of the driving forces behind the project, which is funded under the Erasmus+ budget line. 

The conference highlighted some very important messages towards both companies, European decision-making and educational institutions. Even though the industry is going through difficult times in all EU countries, skills still remain relevant. It is with help of people every important step, every development and every transition is being made. As many of the speakers stated in their interventions, co-operation between education, decision-making and companies. It is essential for the educational field and the decision-making to understand the industry’s needs and vice-versa. The need of strong STEM skills in Europe was also highlighted several times. Europe needs to still be a competitive player in the educational field. Skills are a competitiveness issues.
